On a summer evening, just after a light shower, I captured these photos walking along Central Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They cover parts of Nob Hill and downtown along Central Ave.
Nob Hill Photos
The photo above shows the classic Route 66 signage of the Hiway House Motel in Nob Hill. I love the iconic “Color TV by RCA” sign!
Kellys Brewery purchased the historic Jones Motor Company building in 1999. The Jones Motor Company was a Ford dealership, service center and gas station that was constructed in 1936. It was a key landmark on Albuquerque’s Route 66. Now it serves as one of Nob Hill’s most popular night spots.
The photo below shows The Frontier Restaurant, a more recent Route 66 addition that is one of the most popular eateries in Albuquerque. Located across from the University of New Mexico campus, it is one of the few places stays open until 1pm for your late night noshing.
A view of the iconic 66 Diner in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. The neon-style lighting is at its best just after sunset!
