Best Breakfast Burrito

2006 Readers' Restaurant Picks
by Eric D. Howerton and Charles Vane
From Crosswinds Weekly (reprinted by permission)

Albuquerque: And the winner is, not surprisingly, the venerable and expansive Frontier Restaurant (2400 Central SE, 266-0550). Whether you're enjoying a Sunday brunch with the in-laws, or need a hot burrito at 4am after a sleepless night of finals cramming, the Frontier's breakfast burritos are just the ticket. Golden Pride was your second choice. (No surprise, since they're owned by the same folks as the Frontier.)

Santa Fe: Felipe's Tacos (1711 Llano St., 473-9397) is a cherished gem. No surprises here, just great food. Breakfast burritos come with huevos, beans, papas and pico de gallo. The health-conscious beans are lard free, the chicken is cholesterol-aware and skin free, and vegetarian-friendly options are, obviously, meat free. If only the food were free!
