Arizona Photos: Western Movie Scene, Old Tuscon Movie Studio, Tuscon, Arizona

This photo shows a rustic western movie setting from the Old Tuscon Studios in Tuscon, Arizona. This very authentic tourist attraction is also a working movie studio, and has been used to shoot many popular westerns in past years. It is fun to visit, and provides a nice taste of the Old West! Arizona Photos: Goldfield Ghost Town, The Apache Trail, AZ

These two Arizona photos show scenes from Goldfield Ghost Town, a former gold mining town that has been resurrected as a tourist attraction. Located at the base of the Superstition Mountains, it is a delightful place to explore while touring The rugged Apache Trail in Arizona. Of course, it contains one of my favorite subjects for photography, old rusted trucks and cars! Photos by Donald Peterson

Photo: Sunset Colors, Arizona, Papago Park, Phoenix

This photo shows the beautiful sunset colors of Arizona from a vantage point in Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona. As the weather turns cooler here in New York, I miss the pleasant fall and winter season in the Sonoran Desert environs of Arizona. Photo by Donald Peterson

Arizona Photo: Cholla Cactus, Superstition Mountains, Apache Trail, Arizona

There are two thing you don’t mess with in Arizona: Rattlesnakes and Cholla Cactus! The Cholla Cactus seen in this photo is abundant in the Superstition Mountains along The Apache Trail in Arizona. The needles of the Cholla penetrate clothing and skin quite easily, and are difficult and painful to remove because of tiny barbs that grip the skin (you need needle-nose pliers to remove the barbs). They are best viewed from a respectful distance! This photo shows the Elvis Chapel in the background located at the Superstition Mountain Museum. Cholla Cactus aside, this is a great place to hike and explore!
