These three Phoenix Arizona (AZ) Photos show the range of beauty seen in Papago Park, in Phoenix, Arizona. Looking more like a distant planet’s terrain than an urban space, it is a desert park in the full sense of the word. From imposing red rock buttes to appealing fishing lagoons it is a delightful if oddly adorned city park. In these three photos you see a dust storm, a setting sun, and a winter visitor to this Phoenix park. Photos by Donald Peterson.

My Jemez Red Rock Memories
October 6, 2009Being able to enjoy the artistic red rock vistas of the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico is better than a movie with free popcorn! This photo shows a trail in the Jemez Mountains that leads to a popular fast-moving stream that is great for fishing. The beauty of the red rock and clay make this an uncommonly beautiful area. New Mexico’s Jemez Mountains are quietly beautiful and perhaps for that reason they are not as well known as more popular New Mexico attractions. They are one of my endearingly favorite getaways, less than an hour from Albuquerque. This image was captured with the Nikon D40 and 18-55mm kit lens.
