This New York City photo shows a beautifully lit building in midtown Manhattan. It is not easy to capture a sharp image of the moon in the background at slow shutter speeds. It’s moving too fast! This is one of my favorite times of the day to shoot in New York, just after sunset while there is still a bit of color in the sky.

November 8, 2009This New York City Photo shows the warm light of a setting sun on downtown New York City as seen from the entrance to the Millenium Hotel, a block away from the former site of the World Trade Center. The warm colors of the late sun paint very pleasing blue and pink hues on the building facades. Photo by New York Photographer Donald Peterson.
Pier 17, The Seaport, New York City, at Sunset
November 8, 2009This New York City photo shows boats docked at Pier 17, the South Street Seaport in downtown, New York City. This is a great place for photographers to capture a nice contrast between the modern New York City skyline and timeless sail-powered clipper ships. This photo was captured on a balmy fall day in late-October. This was captured with my favorite pocket-camera, the Olympus SP-350.
