The bosque is the strip of forest that runs adjacent to the Rio Grande (river) as it winds through New Mexico. This delightful landscape is a great place to hike and enjoy the cottonwood trees in the fall season as they change colors. This scene is near the Central Avenue overpass on the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

There is something about this photo that attracts me. It is just a tree caught in a gust of wind in Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona. However, the colors feel a bit melancholic, evoking a well worn patina. The motion blur of the leaves and the warm afternoon light gives the scene the feel of an oil painting. What I saw when I captured this photo felt quite a bit more vivid than what the camera captured. But, I like it, and I hope you enjoy it as well!
