There is nothing shy and retiring about the colors of Albuquerque. Whether it is crisp, powder blue New Mexico summer skies or golden leaved cottonwood trees in the fall, Albuquerque has color! The photo below was captured on a dramatically cloudy late fall day. It shows the Rio Grande and Bosque from the Central Avenue overpass just before sunset. Love those dramatic colors!
Of course, the beauty of Albuquerque color is not limited to the natural world. Here is a beautiful old doorway, rich in patina, photographed in Old Town, Albuquerque. The colors and textures add up to something special here!
Here is another setting from Old Town, Albuquerque (below). The colors are more subdued and muted. Yet the casual play of soft colors and textures gives this setting a very appealing look and feel.
Here is a very simple subject, also photographed in Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico. A simple bench and a few flowers. Yet, the warm late afternoon New Mexico light adds a special ingredient to this photo.
This photo above shows the Route 66 clock that was formerly at the corner of Central Ave. (the old Route 66) and 4th Street. It is now located in City Hall Plaza. It looks resplendent against the powder blue New Mexico sky.
The photo above shows a detail from a restaurant near the University of New Mexico campus on Central Avenue.
